For Andor, Hunter and Kyle Soller, Syril Karn's actor, worked together on a story about Karn's father. The story was that he left early on in an acrimonious and horrible way. They both thought Eedy being wronged was the launchpad for how she raised Syril. The actors believed that Eedy's anger, grief, disappointment, and frustration of him leaving filtered into Syril.
