Junction

The Junction was first depicted in the current Star Wars canon on a map in the 2016 Fantasy Flight Games roleplaying sourcebook Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game. It originated in Star Wars Legends as a trade planet formally named Feriae Junction. The world first appeared in the twenty-seventh issue of the 1977 Star Wars comic series, written by Archie Goodwin, illustrated by Carmine Infantino, and published by Marvel Comics on June 26, 1979. While the comic only identified it as Junction, its formal name was first given in "The Hunt Within: Valance's Tale: Part 4," a Wizards.com roleplaying article that included "Mission 4: The Doom of Ultaar," a scenario which could be used for the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures game. Published on January 7, 2005, the article was authored by Jason Fry.

The Feriae Junction was introduced in canon when it was mentioned in flashbacks in the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series, written by Alyssa Wong and published by Marvel Comics on November 25 of that year. The mention itself was also included in the issue's preview on StarWars.com a week prior. However, no connection has been made in canon between Feriae Junction and Junction.
