Joshi served as a captain and commanded the escort frigate Provocateur under Warlord Zsinj.
Joshi was ordered by Warlord Zsinj to go to Talasea and join the Implacable, Constrictor and Night Caller in ambushing the New Republic force shadowing Night Caller. But Zsinj didn't know that Wraith Squadron had already taken control of Night Caller and was planning their own ambush for his forces.
During the hyperspace jump to the Morobe system, Implacable discovered the ambush and dropped out of their jump. Without the Imperial-class Star Destroyer, Night Caller managed to disable both ships single-handedly in a short battle. Joshi lost his life, along with everyone aboard, when a proton torpedo salvo snapped Provocateur in half.
Joshi was a capable officer that Zsinj had him next in line for the command of the Implacable.
