Jonava Billane

Jonava Billane was the mother of "Baby Ludi" and a central character in the Case of "Baby Ludi".

Biography

After a groundquake on Ord Thoden, a team of Jedi rescue workers found an infant girl under the ruins of the capital Domitree. After discovering that the child is Force-sensitive and presumed her parents dead, the Jedi decided to take the child to Coruscant and train her in the ways of the Force. When Billane had recovered and learned that the child had survived, she traveled to Coruscant in order to reunite with her daughter. However, the Jedi Council rejected her petition arguing that they would not give her back her child, now named "Aris-Del Wari", because it was too dangerous now that her mind had been opened to the Force.

The case went public, gaining her many supporters galaxywide. Collaborating with the founder and leader of a populist Jedi-accountability watch-group, and her later appearance manager, Thrynka Padaunete, Billane would eventually appear on the Eriadu-based talkshow Essence to tell her story. Her particular episode, produced by Garox Tronten was seen by over 25 billion sentient viewers and gained her much support. During the show she broke into tears four times, gaining even more sympathy galaxywide than before. She thanked all her supporters, but refused to elaborate on the matter of an upcoming full-length holofilm based on her story, for which the studio, beating out two others, paid her over 125 million credit for the story, not counting merchandising rights. After telling that most of the money gone to organizations helping her case, Padaunete changed the subject and attacked the Jedi Order.

After the Jedi Council refused to return "Baby Ludi," student activists at the University of Coruscant overloaded the school's datanet hubs with trillions of pictures of the child, filling the hubs completely and overwriting any files stored by students. Shortly after Billane's appearance on Essence, a group of 20 university students wielding graffiti-bombs attempted to break into the Jedi Temple, defacing the lobby and pushing into the Second Atrium until Jedi Masters Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon managed to pacify them with a Jedi mind trick. Afterwards, the unruly group was arrested and taken away by Judicial officials. Being busy with casting auditions for the upcoming holofilm, Ludi did not comment the events, while Padaunete thanked the students for their actions.

When later Ludi was moved to the Jedi academy on Kamparas, nor Billane nor Padaunete did not comment, since they were still busy with the casting for the yet-untitled holofilm.

Holofilm portrayal

After the production for the holofilm based on the Baby Ludi case by Kailio Entertainments started with blockbuster director Ch'been, the Jonava Billane was rumored to be portrayed by star Harissa Shoti.
