In the days following the proclamation of the New Order, Jedi Master Jocasta Nu and astromech droid Beetoo flew a golden-plated Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor from her school to the Coruscant Underworld for Chief Librarian Nu to infiltrate the former Jedi Temple to retrieve a list of Force-sensitive children across the galaxy.
Standing guard by the Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor during the venture into the Imperial heartland, Beetoo, as per a prior agreement with Nu, notified the Jedi librarian of the approach of Coruscant underworld police officers. Afterwards, Beetoo detonated the starship, which also claimed the lives of all those within the vicinity of the hangar bay, thereby intending to ensure the Jedi's protection through the droid's sacrifice.This was not to be, however, as the remnants of Beetoo and the Delta 7B were recovered by the Imperial Security Bureau.
Now in the hands of the Security Bureau, the case was reported to Darth Vader because the Jedi Order emblem on the fighter had escaped destruction. As a consequence, the Sith Lord personally visited ISB Central Office and reassembled the wreckage using telekinesis, restoring the original appearance of Beetoo and the Jedi starfighter. Immediately, a search for a lone Jedi on the planet ensued.
