The episode opens with a young Anakin Skywalker asking Qui-Gon Jinn if he is a Jedi Knight. There is a voice over of Jinn saying that Anakin is unusually strong with the Force. The video then flashes forward to Jinn sparring with Darth Maul on the outskirts of Mos Espa.
At the Jedi Temple, Qui-Gon and Kenobi present Anakin to the Jedi High Council including Jedi Masters Yoda and Mace Windu. Windu talks about the prophecy of the Chosen One while Yoda considers Qui Gon's request to have Anakin trained as a Jedi. Later, Kenobi tells Anakin that he will be a Jedi. There are shots of Anakin and Kenobi progressing in age.
The video then flashes forward to Anakin and Kenobi sparring with Count Dooku aboard the Invisible Hand. The video then flashes to Anakin and Kenobi's duel on Mustafar. In a voice over, Kenobi explains that a young Jedi called Darth Vader helped the Galactic Empire to hunt down and destroy the Jedi.
There is a shot of an anguished Luke Skywalker watching Kenobi's last stand aboard the Death Star. Princess Leia Organa and Han Solo are also standing outside the Millennium Falcon. The video then flashes forward to Luke training on Dagobah with Yoda and the Force ghost of Kenobi. In a voice over, Luke says that he is a Jedi like his father. He clashes with Vader aboard the second Death Star, who says that he will meet his destiny.
The video then flashes to an aged Luke on the planet Ahch-To. There is a voice-over of Maz Kanata telling Rey that the lightsaber belonged to Luke and his father and that it now calls to her. Rey hands the lightsaber to Luke and later trains on Ahch-To under his guidance.
There is a flashback of Rey and Kylo Ren clashing in the snowy forests of Starkiller Base. This is followed by shots of several Jedi clashing with various Dark siders including Maul.
