Javier Garrón was born on August 17 in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain. His first Star Wars project was a variant cover for the sixth issue of the 2021 series Star Wars: The High Republic featuring the Jedi bond-twins Terec and Ceret. Garrón illustrated the cover alongside comic colorist Marte Gracia. In an interview with StarWars.com, Garrón shared that he felt it was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to draw the two characters. On March 31, 2021, Garrón officially revealed the cover on Twitter in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility. It was later published on June 30 of the same year.

In 2022, Garrón illustrated a second variant cover alongside colorist Jesus Aburtov, this time for the fourth issue of the comic series Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca. The cover features Jedi Lula Talisola and Force-sensitive Zeen Mrala in an embrace and was published on July 20 of the same year. In an interview, Garrón stated that it was a great honor and pleasure to illustrate Talisola and Mrala. The cover was designed to demonstrate a peaceful and intimate moment between the two characters in contrast to the larger galactic storylines they have been a part of.
