Jary Bowman was a male lieutenant of the Byne Guild aboard the Class A modular freight transport Legacy Run, serving as the vessel's first officer under Captain Hedda Casset. In 232 BBY, Bowman was left in command of the bridge during the starship's final voyage when Captain Casset took a break to check the Legacy Runs conditions, and turned over the watch back to her when she returned. Shortly after, the lieutenant, who saluted his superior, died when the freighter nearly collided with an astronomical object and ripped open, which began the event known as the Great Hyperspace Disaster.
Jary Bowman appeared in Light of the Jedi, a novel written by Charles Soule and published in 2021 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.
