IG-97

Phlut Design Systems, who had constructed IG lancer droids for the InterGalactic Banking Clan, was bought by Holowan Mechanicals which also acquired and modified the plans to the original lancers. Holowan thus produced the IG-97, along with the IG-88 series, IG-72, and the IG-100 MagnaGuard series.

Similar in design to the B1-Series battle droid employed by the Trade Federation during the Clone Wars, the Empire realized they were too weak to perform in battle, thus cutting production.

The Imperial officer Rom Mohc once defeated an IG-97 prototype in man-to-droid combat and kept it as a trophy.

One particular IG-97 unit rose to prominence on Tatooine, where he helped Big Gizz, Spiker, Onoh, and Klepti B'ay defeat a rogue dark trooper.
