Hythrope IV

Hythrope IV was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Hythrope system, a part of the Hythrope sector in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Expansion Region. It was the site of a building where, at one point by the time that shortly followed the Battle of Yavin, the Advisory Council of the Rebel Alliance was present.

The Galactic Empire sprung a trap on the group by attacking the building with a force of stormtroopers accompanied by a repulsortank. However, Vin Northal—a former Emperor's Royal Guardsman, Imperial defector, and Rebel operative—disabled the tank with a thermal detonator and used a repeating blaster to defeat the remaining Imperial troops, saving the lives of the members of the Advisory Council. That body subsequently left Hythrope IV, narrowly avoiding being killed while departing the system. Later, Alliance general Airen Cracken mentioned the ambush on Hythrope IV in an entry of a datafile detailing various Rebel operatives dedicated to Northal.

Hythrope IV was created by David R. Tulo, Jr. and was introduced in Cracken's Rebel Operatives, a 1994 West End Games sourcebook published for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Hythrope system, and therefore Hythrope IV, in grid square M-15.
