A hyperspace anchor was a device that could generate a field capable of stabilizing a hyperspace corridor. The Pijal Hyperspace Corridor, through the Inner Rim's Byrnum Maw nebula, was created with two anchors, one each placed on Pijal and its moon. The Czerka Corporation created the hyperspace route to replace an old route that had been disrupted by a dying star going nebula.
