In the final panel of Hyperspace Stories 12, a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser is depicted which is visually identical to a fan-made design by 3D digital art director Howie Day.The fan-made design by Day is referred to as an MC42 Cruiser, and was featured in several of Day's YouTube videos, including one with a shot of the rear of the Alliance Fleet, similar to the drawing in the panel. The final version of the work the MC42 appeared in is "Star Wars Animation WIP #3 - The Return."
