Hynah

Description

Hynah was a terrestrial world located in the Hynah system, a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Kalamith sector. It was situated between the Simpla and Sorrus systems on the Hydian Way super-hyperroute, which served as a dividing line between the New Territories and Trans-Hydian regions.

History

When, following the Battle of Yavin, the Rebel Alliance prepared for the imminent evacuation of its base in the Yavin system, Rebel scouts charted several emergency hyperspace escape routes from the Feswe Corridor star system, including one running to Hynah via the Feswe Prime system.

Inhabitants

A bustling industrial world, Hynah had an enterpreneurial and cosmopolitan population, known as the Hynese, which consisted of members of various species. The Hynese had a presence in the adjacent Gordian Reach sector, with their interests being represented in the agricultural Jovan system and both the mining planet Selitan and the industrial world Krylon being dominated by Hynese companies. On Hynah, jokes were common about the relatively backward ways of the inhabitants of the Gordian Reach.

Behind the scenes

Hynah was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. Although it was placed in grid square O-5 by the book's map of the Gordian Reach, both the Appendix section of the book and the StarWars.com Online Companion to that work incorrectly placed the Hynah system in grid square P-5 instead.
