Years later, one Kaleesh warlord named Qymaen jai Sheelal, now known as Grievous. led a ruthless war against their planetary neighbor, the Yam'rii. Having been driven from their world by the Kaleesh forces led by Grievous, the Yam'rii did something unexpected and asked the Republic for help. The Republic and the Jedi, the protectors of the Republic, sided with them and intervened in the conflict between the two species. Grievous developed a personal vendetta against the Republic and the Jedi as a result, eventually allying himself with InterGalactic Banking Clan and becoming an enforcer.
