A holographic lightsaber was a type of lightsaber used in Jedi training. It consisted of a larger than average lightsaber hilt projecting a thick yellow blade which the trainee had to deflect in accordance with saberfighting techniques. The holographic saber could record the hits it took during the session and display them for the Jedi Master to judge their trainee's success.
