Imperial broadcaster Alton Kastle gave a glowing report of the Imperial authorities' destruction of a controversial statue on the nearby planet of Garel by the Bith artist Janyor; which he termed an "eyesore". In recent years, the Imperial Coalition for Progress, a division of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order, had scrutinized the statue because it had allegedly fallen into disrepair and become an issue of public safety. A few dissidents staged an impromptu protest but were quickly neutralized by the local authorities.
