Herdessa

Herdessa was an astronomical object located in the Mid Rim along the Corellian Run. The Galactic Republic blockaded it during the Clone Wars, and Senator Shea Sadashassa represented the celestial body in the Republic Senate and later the Imperial Senate. Vryant, a soldier in the Imperial Army, served six years on Herdessa. After the Imperial Senate was dissolved in 0 BBY, Sadashassa and many other senators were detained in the Arrth-Eno Prison Complex on the planet Coruscant.

Description

Herdessa was a terrestrial astronomical object located in an intersecting portion of the Mid Rim Territories and the Slice regions. Situated in grid square Q-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid, it lay along the Corellian Run super-hyperroute between the astronomical objects Mon Gazza and Radnor.

History

Between 20 BBY and 19 BBY, during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, the Republic had a blockade in place at Herdessa. Jedi Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were tasked with reinforcing the blockade but were soon pulled back from the front lines by Admiral Wullf Yularen for a more urgent mission. In the last month of the Clone Wars, which ended in 19 BBY, around two thousand legislators, known as the Delegation of 2,000, signed the Petition of 2,000, a formal protest for the Republic Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine to relinquish his emergency powers and begin seeking peace with the Separatists. Senator Shea Sadashassa, who represented Herdessa in the Galactic Senate, was among those who signed the petition, which was presented during a full Senate session.

Herdessa's senator, Shea Sadashassa, was among a number of senators arrested (the arrests pictured) a day after the Galactic Empire's founding.

However, when the Clone Wars ended with the fall of the Separatists, Palpatine reorganized the Republic into the Galactic Empire while simultaneously destroying the Jedi Order, declaring them enemies of the Republic. A day after the Empire's founding, Sadashassa and sixty-two other senators that had signed the Petition of 2,000 were arrested under accusations of having colluded with an alleged Jedi insurgency. Any senator that professed their loyalty to the Empire was released thereafter, and Sadashassa continued as Herdessa's senator in the Imperial Senate.

During the Empire's reign, the Imperial Army soldier Vryant served six years on Herdessa before going on to be posted on the Mid Rim planet Phorsa Gedd. In 0 BBY, Palpatine dissolved the Imperial Senate, and a mass arrest was ordered for all senators and former senators. While some senators were able to escape underground, Sadashassa and the rest of them were arrested by Imperial Security Bureau loyalty officers and detained as political prisoners at the Arrth-Eno Prison Complex on the capital world of Coruscant. An attempt was made to free the prisoners before they could be executed around 0 ABY, but the prison was destroyed during the mission, killing all the senators.
