The Health and Safety Council was a body within the Galactic Republic. During the Cold War, they provided an update on its recommendations on extreme cases on that those that had been infected with the Rakghoul plague on Tatooine. It stated that anyone that had suffered a full-body genetic mutation during the transformation state into a rakghoul were considered a high risk threat to anyone nearby. Thus, it recommended that these individuals were either killed or the nearest Republic Military representative was contacted to aid in the termination of the infected person as there was no cure for the disease.
