Hasaq's sun was introduced in the 2004 Obsidian Entertainment video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. In the game, the star can be mentioned in an optional conversation the player character, the Jedi Exile, can have with the character Atton Rand about the former's first lightsaber. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Hasaq system, and therefore the sun, in grid square P-12.
