Halaisi

Rig Nema, a Halaisi from Halais, was a member of the Jedi Order and a doctor during the final years of the Republic Era. She examined Grand Master Yoda in 19 BBY after other members of the Jedi High Council were concerned about his health.

Halaisi first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars sixth-season episode "Voices"—which premiered on March 1, 2014, in Germany and on March 7 on Netflix in North America—with the character of Rig Nema. The species was first identified in the 2021 reference book Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Character Encyclopedia - Join the Battle!, written by Jason Fry. Nema's physical appearance was based on an early concept design for Jedi Master Mace Windu drawn by Iain McCaig during the pre-production of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. As actor Samuel L. Jackson had not yet been cast, McCaig based his design on Industrial Light & Magic modeler Steve Aplin.
