HV-7s were a type of load lifter droid that was in use alongside CCLs and IW-37 pincer loader droids at a shipyard on the planet Corellia. The yard had been controlled by the Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth during the reign of the Galactic Empire, but had been taken over by the New Republic by around 9 ABY.
However, the facility continued to be used by Elsbeth in secret, causing New Republic General Hera Syndulla and former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano to investigate it. During the investigation, Tano questioned Regional Supervisor Myn Weaver about the droids used in the facility, and Weaver mentioned the HV-7s along with several others. After Elsbeth's continued use of the shipyard was then uncovered, many of the staff were then arrested by the New Republic.
In the current Star Wars canon, HV-7s were mentioned in "Part Two: Toil and Trouble," the second episode of the Ahsoka television series, which was released on Disney+ on August 22, 2023. The droids originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were mentioned in the Legacy Era Campaign Guide, a 2009 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game published by Wizards of the Coast.
