The great palace was located in a city southwest of Mount Tantiss on the planet of Wayland. After the Dark Jedi Joruus C'baoth killed the Guardian of Mount Tantiss, the people of Wayland built a crypt for his body in the palace. It became surrounded by candles, one for every person who came to visit him after his death, all of whom (except Thrawn, Gilad Pellaeon, and Rukh) were subsequently killed by C'baoth.
