Great Well

The Great Well was a large sinkhole on the planet Ophideraan that contained the main source of water on the arid world, and contained the breeding ground for the distinctive flying serpent species that dominated Ophideraan's skies. The Serpent Masters, a group of scavengers who ruled over the planet during the era of the Galactic Civil War, lived in a facility built within the Great Well. The Serpent Masters' slaves lived deeper within the Great Well, where they spent their days maintaining the pumping systems built into the water source.
