The Grand Causeway was a causeway on Pashvi that was at least partially covered by a stone roof. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, the smuggler Tryphon Leo searched the causeway for the Shrove of the Left-Handed God Typhojem, which contained a buried vault of treasure hidden by the pirate Queen Maz Kanata.
Leo—who had learned about the treasure cache from the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide—was killed approximately seventy meters along the causeway when a large chunk of rock fell from the ceiling and crushed him in front of a Typhojem Thrall. The smuggler's body was later discovered by the senior terrain trekker Reginald Danfillo as part of the Typhojem Excavation, who took the Smuggler's Guide from his corpse.
