The Golan VIII was a Golan Arms battle station fitted with a hyperdrive for easier relocation. To operate it, the main power systems had to be re-routed as the class was primarily meant to defend a fixed location.
One such station was used to guard the Black Redoubt, a secret Galactic Alliance Remnant logistics facility.
