Glowbacters were metal lanterns that were used by members of the Doomed, a Force-sensitive community consisting of Dark Jedi and Jedi who had become stranded on the Wild Space planet of Kesh following the Hundred-Year Darkness. Metal was rare on Kesh so these lanterns were made from their wrecked starships. In 2974 BBY, the two Sith Parlan Spinner and Takara Hilts came into contact with glowbacters during their first meeting with the Doomed at the City of the Doomed.
