Garrick

Garrick was a Human male who worked as the chief traffic controller at Tatooine's Mos Eisley spaceport during the era of the Galactic Civil War. Garrick was in charge of clearing or denying landing to incoming ships—Garrick had a special dislike for Corellian smuggler Han Solo, who had in 0 BBY skipped out on docking fees to transport a pair of passengers to Alderaan.

When Solo returned to Tatooine shortly after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Garrick attempted to deny Solo's Millennium Falcon a docking bay, although he was overridden due to Solo's companion Leia Organa possessing priority diplomatic clearance. Shortly afterward, fearing that local Jawas—emboldened by the recent downfall of Jabba the Hutt's criminal outfit—had stolen their droid R2-D2, Solo attempted to question Garrick while he was repairing a pair of landspeeders. When Garrick brushed off his questions, Solo physically attacked the man and stole the landspeeders for himself and Organa, taking off after the Jawas.
