In 3 ABY, Gamma Squad was sent to Cloud City to help Darth Vader during his attempted capture of Luke Skywalker. Some of their members, along with Imperial droid E-3PO were tasked with helping the city's Ugnaught engineers convert the carbon freezing chamber's chemical intermix ratio for Human hibernation. While working, the troopers took to calling E-3PO "E-Gregious" because of his outlandish attitude, causing him to storm out. Some of the troopers were sitting down when C-3PO, thinking he had heard his friend R2-D2 enter the room they were in. In order to not blow their cover, C-3PO was shot by Corporal Drazin and his body dumped in Cloud City's incinerator room.
