Galactic Accord of Systems

The Galactic Accord of Systems was a convention established circa 972 BBY, in the wake of the Jedi-Sith War and the ensuing reformation of the Galactic Republic. The Accord established a set of rules of engagement in the event another conflict should break out. For example, it dictated that a surrendering enemy could not be denied the chance to do so. Even though the Galactic Empire routinely ignored the accord, Grand Vizier Mas Amedda invoked it in front of Mon Mothma and Leia Organa on Velusia.
