Full dress honor chains

Full dress honor chains were an award system in the Chiss Ascendancy. Following the rescue of contraband at Pleknok and before the Vagaari pirate operations, Mid Commander Mitth'raw'nuruodo, core name "Thrawn" was awarded the Stybla medal, which was put on his honor chains in the Stybla honoring ceremony held at the Stybla family stronghold on the planet Naporar.

In the aftermath of Senior Captain Thrawn's last stand over the planet Sunrise, where Thrawn's fleet of Chiss vessels had destroyed Jixtus's, the Chiss Admiral Dy'lothe, along with Supreme Admiral Ja'fosk, Admiral Ers'ikaro, and two other Chiss Defense Force admirals, were present in a tribunal where Senior Captain Thrawn was exiled for destroying Jixtus's fleet, with Dy'lothe removing the honor chains from Thrawn's chest.

Full dress honor chains first appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, written by Timothy Zahn as the final novel of Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy. The honor chains resemble the rows of colored bits of metal that denoted specific campaigns and victories worn by Commander Chak Fel of the Empire of the Hand on his regal dress uniform from Star Wars Legends continuity, which first appeared in the 2004 novel Survivor's Quest, also written by Zahn.
