Eventually, it was discovered that one of the ship's crew was a spy for the Empire, and after briefly being captured by a Victory-class Star Destroyer, the Freedom Fighter managed to escape. The Freedom Fighter was under the command of Captain Darpik. Commander Ares Ginn served as the senior Alliance Army officer onboard, and Corporal Calle Tharandon served as the ship's quartermaster.
