Flight Lieutenant was a rank used by the Starfighter Corps. It ranked above Flight Officer, and below Flight Captain. The rank was the equivalent of Imperial Navy Junior Lieutenant and Imperial Army Lieutenant.
Imperial pilot Rignik held the rank shortly after the Battle of Hoth. Flight lieutenants like ranks above it command pilots to enforce the Empire with numbers.
