A fisher, also known as an angler, fisherman, or a fisherfolk, was an individual or droid who engaged in fishing as their occupation or primary role within their culture. On the planet Ahch-To, the male Lanai—known as Visitors—spent most days of each month catching fish in the waters covering the planet. Many businesses in Scaparus Port on Arkanis specifically served the local fisherfolk. Peka community inhabitants on Batuu often worked as farmers or fishermen. A Keredian called Dewi Pamular worked alongside an alien called Freedi Pamular as a fisher in 5 BBY, visiting the Imperial prison moon Narkina 5 with their TUG-b13 to fish for . They, however, found that the waters were polluted with waste from the moon's Prison Complex, which greatly diminished squiggly populations.

Coronet City on Corellia had longstanding fish markets, some of which were operated across multiple generations of a single family, where fishmongers sold species of fish from that planet's oceans. Corellian fishers utilized harpoons.
