The fell swoop formation was a flight maneuver used by TIE fighter pilots of the Galactic Empire. Around 3 ABY, the elite pilots of the 204th Imperial Fighter Wing used the formation when Squadron Five were ambushed by the thought-to-be-disabled Star Destroyer Celerity in the Kudo system.
Sometime during the Galactic Civil War, Titan Squadron notably used this formation during an engagement against the New Republic's Vanguard Squadron.
