Factor 5

Factor 5 is a German video game developer that was well known for developing the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron video game series.

In 2009, Factor 5 shut its doors due to financial trouble. The company is currently involved with litigation with employees, the employees claiming they were not given due pay.

In 2016, during a showing of Unseen64, it was revealed that before their shutdown, Factor 5 had two planned video games in the making. One of them, Star Wars: Dark Squadron, involved the Rogue Squadron series from the Imperial point of view. The other, which replaced Dark Squadron when it was nixed by LucasArts, was an untitled game starring the Wookiee Chewbacca as a mercenary, shortly after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. This ended up vetoed by George Lucas himself due to legal issues occurring between LucasArts and Factor 5.
