Ezra's Vision

Plot summary

In his bunk aboard the Ghost, Ezra Bridger has a nightmare in which someone uses a lightsaber to kill Garazeb Orrelios. Distressed, he wakes and explains to Kanan Jarrus that he's seen the same vision three times, worried about what it could mean. Jarrus urges him to be cautious with how he interprets visions, as they could be deceptive. Orrelios returns in the Phantom from a solo mission. He tells the Spectres that his contact had warned him that the Empire has placed a bounty on their heads and is searching for information. Jarrus believes the best course of action is to remain completing missions as usual and deal with any Imperial spies as they come, and Hera Syndulla agrees.

Suddenly, amidst their conversation, their hologame table suddenly sparks and loses power. Sabine Wren and Chopper leave to get a spare power cell and wiring to fix the cell overload, and Orrelios leaves as well, saying he needs to get something from his cabin. In the hallway, Chopper is suddenly shot by an unseen blaster. Syndulla reassures the crew she can fix him, but she explains that the mystery shot could have come from any of them, as they all carry blasters. As the crew argues, everyone asserting that it can't have been them, Bridger remembers his vision of Orrelios being attacked by a lightsaber. He heads to the cockpit on a feeling that something is wrong, and much to his surprise, he finds Orrelios lying unconscious.

Orrelios regains consciousness and is confused when Bridger explains that there is someone who looks just like him elsewhere on the Ghost. Bridger uses his comlink to tell Syndulla he believes the mystery figure who shot Chopper is a Clawdite shape-shifter who was a bounty hunter. The remaining crew head to Orrelios' cabin, hoping to catch the infiltrator by surprise, but when they open the door, they find Wren bound on the floor. As the Spectres grapple with this realization, the shape-shifter, now resembling Wren, runs away while shooting at them. Out of sight of the rest of the crew, the shape-shifter changes to resemble Bridger, but when he comes across Orrelios, he changes once more to mirror him. Both Lasats fight until Bridger enters, lightsaber drawn. Recalling his vision once more, he realizes he was the one wielding the weapon in his dreams. Bridger is unsure which Lasat is the real Orrelios, and they both attempt to convince him that the other is lying. After a brief struggle, Bridger successfully shoots the Clawdite.

Instead of killing or turning in the Clawdite, Jarrus decides to drop him off at the nearest planet, believing they should have compassion for even their enemies. Afterwards, Jarrus explains that the bounty hunter had shot Chopper because the droid had caught him morphing into Bridger. Wren asks Bridger how he knew which Lasat was actually Orrelios, to which he jokingly replies that only one of them had smelled.
