Expedition IL5 was a group of scientists and archaeologists working for the Kornova Corp, excavating ancient ruins of an unknown species underneath a glacier. When they broke into a new level of the ruins, they released a dangerous entity that began preying on expedition members. A cunning creature bio-engineered by the ancient species as a perfect assassin, it managed to disable IL5's starship and most of their communication equipment. Expedition IL5 managed to cobble together a weak broadcasting unit, and sent out a distress call.
