Eredenn Prime

Eredenn Prime, also known as Eredenn IV, was a frozen planet in the Tion Hegemony.

Description

Eredenn Prime was the fourth planet in the Erediss system. It was located along the Tion Trade Route, in the Tion Hegemony of the Outer Rim Territories. Three moons orbited Eredenn, though none were habitable.

Eredenn Prime was an inhospitable frozen world, with huge areas of snowy fields and ice lakes. Its frozen wastes gave rise to fertile land during the brief warm season, though its most remote regions saw no light for half of the year.

History

One of the original member-worlds of the Back Spiral, Eredenn was conquered by the Pirate King Xer VIII and absorbed in the Kingdom of Cron. It then served as a member-world of Xim's empire until its collapse in 25,096 BBY. The Eredenn system was then integrated in the Honorable Union of Desevro & Tion, one of the feuding states that rose in the Tion Cluster from the ashes of Xim the Despot's empire, until the entire cluster joined the Galactic Republic around 24,000 BBY.

Thousand years later, by the time of the rise of the Galactic Empire, the planet was mostly abandoned. At some point, it became the location of a secret Republic weapons testing site. During the Clone Wars, Eredenn Prime was used to field-test the Republic new secret weapons, the Decimators. In 22 BBY, the project was discovered by the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the planet was attacked by General Sev'rance Tann. The Separatists defeated the local Republic forces commanded by Kraen Weest and stole the Decimators tested there.
