Emma Mieko Candon

Emma Mieko Candon is an American author and editor of Japanese descent who was born in Hawaii. They are the author of Ronin: A Visions Novel, a tie-in to the Star Wars: Visions short film "The Duel" that was published by Del Rey on October 12, 2021. Ronin: A Visions Novel is their first work in Star Wars as well as their first published book.

Candon has described themselves as a chronically ill, queer cyborg who incorporates these traits into their writing on Ronin. Other writing inspirations include Akira Kurosawa, who was also an inspiration for Star Wars creator George Lucas, as well as other Japanese period dramas, folklore, and war trauma.
