The group was created in 4 ABY after the debacle at Endor and was led by Lieutenant Harme Kiela. A former Imperial Navy captain named Kine later betrayed the group during a battle between the TIE Pirates and forces of the New Republic.
Following Lando Calrissian's mission to Radix, the New Republic First Battle Group engaged the pirates on Abraxas and destroyed them.
Jason Fry confirmed on the Jedi Council Forums that the Eiattu pirates mentioned in The Essential Guide to Warfare are the pirates from Lando's Commandos and that the Battle of Abraxas follows Lando's mission.
