Estornii was played by Jacqui Louez, assistant to director George Lucas and producer Rick McCallum. Executive editor of Lucas Licensing, Sue Rostoni, named the character after herself when given the chance to pick one of the unnamed characters from Revenge of the Sith and name them. In the new Star Wars canon, the name was used in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, while in the Star Wars Legends continuity, it was first used in the 2005 reference book Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels.
