E-wing: Type B

New Republic technicians were unable to devise a permanent solution to the problem in time as the E-wings were to be deployed in combat on the planet Dac. Instead, the technicians rigged the laser cannons to accept triple the standard power feed. The increased power brought the weapons up to an acceptable combat range, but the jury-rigging left the fighters vulnerable to a terminal power overload.
