Dominus III was a terrestrial planet of the Dominus sector, in the Outer Rim Territories. When seen from space, the planet had a blue halo, and one could distinguish oceans and landmasses.
Following their victory at the Battle of Yavin, the members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic considered establishing their new permanent base on Dominus III. Two months after the battle, Princess Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles traveled to Dominus III, and they were ambushed by an Imperial-class Star Destroyer accompanied by a group of TIE/LN starfighters and TIE/IN interceptors. After a short battle, Leia Organa and a TIE interceptor were both shot down and forced to crash-land on the surface of Dominus III. After the Princess killed the TIE pilot, she was reunited with Skywalker and Antilles, and the three Rebels made their way to the Redemption, the temporary base of the Alliance.
