In 44 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi, a failed Jedi Initiate who had been assigned to work with the AgriCorps on Bandomeer found the annex while exploring the dome. Shortly after the discovery, Kenobi reported its existence to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
