Discord missile

Discord missiles were a type of guided missile ordnance that was used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. They could be launched by vulture droids, HMP droid gunships as well as droid tri-fighters and instead of detonating on impact they released a swarm of Pistoeka sabotage droids to directly attack and dismantle enemy starfighters and droids. The missiles were powered by an on-board reactor with enough fuel for two minutes of flight and could accelerate beyond 10,000 G, while their thruster could tilt to allow for extremely tight turns assisted by a multitude of stabilizer fins. These features made the weapons able to outrun and outturn almost every manned starship as well as dodge anti-missile defenses and reliably deliver their payload of up to seven sabotage droids. A system of homing and guidance instruments mounted on the missile's nose further augmented their accuracy and lethality in battle.

Discord missiles first appeared in the 2005 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. They were later first identified in the 2015 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, published by Dorling Kindersley.
