The dinosaur turtle was quadrupedal and had a long tail. Its skin was all but impervious to blaster fire. Its shell was also strong against the explosion of thermal detonator. It dwelled underwater but could also operate on land.
The dinosaur turtle first appeared in "Chapter 17: The Apostate," the first episode of The Mandalorian season three, which was released on March 1, 2023. It was identified in the episode's audio description. Concept art of the dinosaur turtle was created by Christian Alzmann. Emily Swallow, the actress who played the Armorer, and the other Mandalorian actors pretended to fight a large monster. According to Swallow, special effects were added for the creature after filming.
