The Department of Prisons was a department in the New Republic that was responsible for concerns regarding prisons under its control. When traveling to Substation Grimdock, Taka Jamoreesa claimed that they, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Kaasha Bateen, Chewbacca and Peekpa were sent from the Department to investigate possible technical malfunctions with the prisons computer system.
