Denin was the prince of the planet Naldar, who led a native resistance to Imperial forces during the Galactic Civil War. Denin, who long dreamed of training as a Jedi Knight, was killed by Imperials who made Naldar a major gathering place after their climactic defeat in the Battle of Endor. Denin's consciousness passed on to the Netherworld of the Force, where he met the Jedi Master Yoda, who agreed to train Denin in the ways of the Force. However, Denin waited for the arrival of his twin sister Vila, who posed as her brother in order to help bring an Alliance of Free Planets force to retake their world. Vila was killed in the fighting, and joined Denin in the afterlife to begin their training.
