Death Trap! was the fourth installment of The Kingdom of Ice, published in Pizzazz 13 in October 1978. The entire story arc was reprinted in the UK in Star Wars Weekly 57–60 in 1979.
Luke Skywalker tells Princess Leia Organa that he believes the man who introduced himself as Colonel Odan of the Rebel Alliance is, in fact, an imposter working for the Galactic Empire. Leia had already suspected this, due to the battle damage on Odan's War Sled and his lack of Rebel recognition codes. The imposter discovers their suspicions and reveals himself, taking Leia hostage and tying Luke in the cockpit of the War Sled, sending it on automatic toward destruction in the Geyser Sea.
Meanwhile the real Colonel Odan goes over his military options with C-3PO, R2-D2, and the snow demons. Those options are scant, since their snow flyer has been grounded since the destruction of its necessary T-3 unit. R2-D2 volunteers his services for the job.
