Datacore

A datacore was a device capable of storing information. Serennian Romar Adell owned a small Type Two data core which he used to store pieces of Serennian culture including music, art and history; as the core was malfunctioning, genetically defective clone Tech assisted him with its repair when he was stranded in his house and managed to recover all of the data from it. The Tarkin Initiative deep-storage facility Hivebase-1 included a massive datacore built as a vertical pit accessible only by a floating repulsor-platform. The scavenger Miggs McKane managed to slice into the datacore of a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer on the planet Jakku and discovered a complete Imperial order of battle, which he then sold in order to retire.
